About Richard

Rich Kolb has over 30 years of financial planning and legal experience, and founded his own firm, Libertyville Financial Group, in 2005. Dedicated to helping his clients achieve their financial goals, he prides himself on his ability to focus on a client’s individual financial needs. With expertise in a wide variety of wealth management strategies, Rich continually tries to exceed client expectations.

Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Rich was a practicing attorney, focusing on estate planning, taxation and employee benefits. This early career experience continues to serve his clients well. As a father of four, Rich understands the need to quickly adapt to both market and life changes, and he is committed to ensuring that his clients have the financial framework to be prepared for whatever they may encounter.

Rich works with a diverse client base that includes corporate executives, university professors, attorneys and business owners.

Rich holds a BS in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a JD from Loyola University School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.

What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

The relationships that have developed with clients over the past 30 years.

What’s the biggest challenge?

Filtering out all of the “noise” with respect to the markets.

What do you love most about being part of Inspirion?

Having the ability to help clients in a totally unbiased manner.

What qualities of yours make you best suited to what you do?

My attention to detail and passion for the financial markets. I always have an eye on the ticker during market hours.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Spend time with family; play basketball, soccer and golf. I also love to travel.

What was the most influential movie you’ve seen and why?

Crash, produced and directed by Paul Haggis. I think everyone would benefit from watching this movie. Its impartial approach to depicting racism in our country and how it affects people in their day-to-day lives is truly eye-opening.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

Raising four wonderful children.
